About Voorschotense Golfclub

Het Wedde, home of the Voorschotense Golfclub in Voorschoten, South Holland, is a 9-hole, par-27 par-3 course among trees, water and bunkers.

The Voorschotense Golfclub plays at Golfbaan Het Wedde, a short course designed in 1993 by Bram van der Velden, a property developer and keen golfer. The club was founded on 27 April 1994, and Mayor Cannegieter officially opened Het Wedde on 10 September that year. Sportfondsen Voorschoten has run the course since 1996, while the club, as a members' association, organises competitions there.

Het Wedde lies on the Richard Wagnerlaan in Voorschoten, between Leiden and The Hague. The course was built on land between the Het Wedde swimming pool and the Noord Hofland district that had once been set aside for a possible N11 road.

Water comes into play often at Het Wedde, the fairways are narrow and the bunkers are placed with care. The 7th is the longest hole, a 153-metre par 3, and the 3rd the shortest at 60 metres. The 122-metre 8th carries stroke index 1.

Every hole at Het Wedde is a par 3, ranging from 60 to 153 metres. Played twice around, the nine holes make an 18-hole round of par 54. For nine holes, the men's course rating from the yellow tees is 25.6 with a slope of 87; for women, the course rating from the red tees is 26.7 with a slope of 89.

Visitors are welcome at Het Wedde on a green fee, in flights of up to four players, but a tee time must be booked in advance. The short holes make this golf course in Voorschoten a good place for beginners and for anyone working on their short game.
