About Rosendaelsche Golfclub
Rosendaelsche Golfclub in Arnhem, Gelderland, is an 18-hole, par-72 golf course in woodland and heathland on the edge of the Veluwe, founded in 1895.
Rosendaelsche Golfclub is one of the oldest golf clubs in the Netherlands. It started in 1895 with nine holes on land next to Rosendael Castle and moved in 1908 to the Delhuijzen estate on the Apeldoornseweg in Arnhem. The estate's owner, Aalbrecht del Court van Krimpen, was also the course's first architect. In 1977 British architect Frank Pennink extended the Rosendaelsche to 18 holes.
The course at Rosendaelsche lies in a Natura 2000 protected area. Narrow fairways and strategically placed bunkers shape the play, and there are no water hazards. Holes 1, 2 and 8 have barely changed since del Court van Krimpen's day, while the 6th and 7th were built in collaboration with architect Christoph Staedler and have been in play since 2014.
The 8th at Rosendaelsche, a par 5 of 519 metres from the white tees, is the longest hole and has the largest green on the course, built on several levels. Members call the 13th the most beautiful hole: a short par 4 of 292 metres from an elevated tee to a narrow green on a high plateau. The 16th, a 127-metre par 3 with a green largely surrounded by heather-covered hills, is praised by many golf experts.
Rosendaelsche Golfclub has ten par 4s, four par 3s and four par 5s, and measures 6,451 metres from the white tees, 6,034 metres from yellow and 5,127 metres from red. Its course and slope ratings are set per nine holes. On the front nine the men's course rating is 37.5 with a slope of 134 from white and 36.2 with 131 from yellow; women play the red tees at 36.5 with a slope of 123.
