About Noordwijkse Golfclub
Noordwijkse Golfclub in Noordwijk, South Holland, is an 18-hole, par-72 golf course laid out in the dunes and woodland of the Dutch North Sea coast.
Founded in 1915, Noordwijkse Golfclub is one of the oldest golf clubs in the Netherlands. Its original course lay about 500 metres north of the Noordwijk lighthouse, until the town's expansion in the 1960s forced a move. The current course on the Randweg, some 5 kilometres north of the lighthouse, was opened by Prince Claus in 1972.
Noordwijkse Golfclub has a long tournament record. The club hosted the Dutch Open several times, including 1978, 1979, 1985, 1986, 1991 to 1993, 2000 and 2001, as well as the European Ladies' Amateur Championship in 1998 and 2011.
The Noordwijkse course covers 68 hectares inside the Natura 2000 site Kennemerland-Zuid. Rare dune grassland lines the holes and the open dunes give wide views. Under its course and nature plan, the club is renovating both the golf course and the natural areas around it.
Noordwijkse Golfclub has ten par 4s, four par 3s and four par 5s, split into two nines of par 36 each. The course measures 6,366 metres from the white tees and 4,636 metres from the orange tees. The longest hole is the 2nd, a 547-metre par 5 from the whites, while the 4th, a 423-metre par 4, is stroke index 1.
From the white tees the men's course rating at Noordwijkse Golfclub is 75.0 with a slope of 145; from the yellow tees it is 72.2 and 137. For women, the course rating from the red tees is 72.9 with a slope of 127.
