About Noord-Brabantsche Golfclub Toxandria

Noord-Brabantsche Golfclub Toxandria in Molenschot, North Brabant, is an 18-hole, par-72 course in woodland and heath designed by Colt, Alison & Morrison.

Noord-Brabantsche Golfclub Toxandria lies on the Veenstraat in Molenschot, in the wooded country between Breda and Tilburg in the south of the Netherlands. Its fairways run across naturally rolling sandy ground and heathland. When the club bought the site, its 43-odd hectares were mostly rough sand and heath.

Toxandria was founded on 5 July 1928 by Breda industrialist Charles Stulemeijer as the first golf club in Brabant and Limburg. The first nine holes, designed by Harry Colt's British firm, opened on 14 September 1929, and Toxandria was extended to 18 holes in 1937. The name refers to Toxandria, the old name for the Kempen region.

According to the club, most holes at Toxandria have been restored to their original design. Architect J.F. Dudok van Heel later added two new holes on extra land, today's 5th and 6th, so that players at Toxandria no longer have to cross the Veenstraat.

Toxandria has ten par 4s, four par 3s and four par 5s, split into two nines of par 36 each. The 5th, a 368-metre par 4 from the black tees, is stroke index 1, and the 8th is the longest hole at Toxandria: a par 5 of 503 metres.

From the black tees Toxandria measures 6,119 metres, with a men's course rating of 72.7 and a slope of 140. From the yellow tees it is 5,784 metres, rated 70.8 with a slope of 137. Women playing Toxandria from the red tees (5,036 metres) have a course rating of 72.4 and a slope of 131.

Visitors with a handicap of 24.0 or better are welcome at Noord-Brabantsche Golfclub Toxandria as green fee players, including golfers without a home club. Tee times are arranged through the club secretariat.
