Golfpark Exloo in Exloo, Drenthe, is an 18-hole, par-64 golf course between the Hondsrug ridge and the Zoersche Landen, with a North loop and a South loop.
Can you play Golfpark Exloo without a golf licence? On the North loop, yes: golfers without the Dutch GVB or a handicap of 54 are welcome there, provided they have some golf experience and bring their own or hired clubs. Green fee players reserve their tee time online through the club.
Golfpark Exloo sits on the Valtherweg in Exloo. The village lies between the higher Hondsrug, with its sandy soil, woodland and heath, and the lower Zoersche Landen nature area, which is damp and has peat beneath it.
Golfpark Exloo began in the late 1990s on the grounds of the Hippisch Centrum, the equestrian club in Exloo. Johan van Houdt of Shortgolf Design laid out the first five holes, which opened for play in 1999. Golfpark Exloo grew to nine holes in 2005, fourteen in 2009 and eighteen in 2010.
The North loop at Golfpark Exloo is a par-29 short course of seven par 3s and two par 4s, 1,457 metres from the yellow tees. The South loop, which earned the NGF's A status in 2013, is a par 35 with two par 3s, six par 4s and a par 5 over 2,668 metres from yellow.
The club calls the 15th its signature hole: a 382-metre par 4 from the yellow tees, with water hidden behind reeds on the right and a water feature with wasteland on the left. Just before it, the 14th at Golfpark Exloo is a long par 3 of 188 metres and stroke index 1.
Played as North plus South, Golfpark Exloo measures 4,125 metres from yellow and 3,891 metres from red. Men have a course rating of 62.8 and a slope of 105 from yellow, and 62.1 and 100 from red. Women play from red with a course rating of 65.1 and a slope of 112. Two rounds of the South loop make a par-70 course of 5,336 metres, rated 68.8 with a slope of 118 for men from yellow.
