About Golfclub Wouwse Plantage

Golfclub Wouwse Plantage in Bergen op Zoom, North Brabant, is an 18-hole, par-72 golf course in woodland and parkland by Frank Pennink and Paul Rolin.

Since 2021 Golfclub Wouwse Plantage has been played as two distinct nines, De Plantage and De Bleekloop, which separate the woodland holes from the parkland holes. De Plantage runs mainly through the woods, with rolling holes, small dunes and a sand drift. De Bleekloop is parkland, with streams and water features. Both nines are par 36; from the white tees De Bleekloop measures 3,258 metres and De Plantage 3,054 metres.

Wouwse Plantage sits on the Zoomvlietweg in Bergen op Zoom, at the edge of the Wouwse Plantage estate: a quiet, wooded nature area of forest, heathland and farmland between Bergen op Zoom and Roosendaal in the west of North Brabant.

Golfclub Wouwse Plantage was founded in 1973. Frank Pennink laid out the original nine woodland holes at the end of the 1970s, and Paul Rolin later added nine more on neighbouring farmland, completing the 18-hole course in 1991. Ken Moodie reworked a number of bunkers and tees in 2006, and Bruno Steensels renovated Wouwse Plantage in 2018 and 2019.

Wouwse Plantage has ten par 4s, four par 3s and four par 5s. The full course measures 6,312 metres from the white tees, 5,920 metres from the yellow tees and 4,533 metres from the orange tees. The men's course rating from the white tees is 74.5 with a slope of 142; from the yellow tees it is 72.4 and 138. For women, the course rating from the red tees is 73.8 with a slope of 135.

Can visitors play Golfclub Wouwse Plantage? Yes: green fee players need a handicap of 54 or better and should check in with the caddie master before teeing off. Besides the 18 holes, Wouwse Plantage has six practice par-3 holes and a driving range.
