About Golfclub Weleveld

Weleveld Golf in Zenderen, Overijssel, is a nine-hole, par-36 golf course on the historic Weleveld estate in Twente, designed by Michiel van der Vaart.

Golf architect Michiel van der Vaart worked the characteristic features of the Weleveld estate into Weleveld Golf: its wooded banks, mature trees and the Bornsche Beek stream. The course opened in early 2015 with gently rolling fairways, rugged bunkers of irregular shape, nutrient-poor grassland and, where possible, heath. At Weleveld Golf a flock of sheep keeps the rough under control.

Weleveld Golf is on the Bekkingvelderweg at the edge of Zenderen, between Borne and Albergen and within easy reach of Almelo and Hengelo in the east of the Netherlands. Most of the course lies within the Weleveld estate, which is privately owned; the Stichting Weleveld foundation looks after the estate's interests.

The nine holes at Weleveld Golf comprise five par 4s, two par 3s and two par 5s, measuring 2,642 metres from the yellow tees and 2,289 metres from the red tees. Played twice as an 18-hole round, the course is a par 72 of 5,284 metres from yellow. From the yellow tees, the 2nd is the longest hole, a 433-metre par 5, and the 6th the shortest, a 104-metre par 3. The 5th, a 338-metre par 4, is stroke index 1.

Over 18 holes at Weleveld Golf, the men's course rating from the yellow tees is 69.4 with a slope of 130. For women, the course rating from the red tees is 70.7 with a slope of 129. Weleveld Golf holds NGF A-status.
