About Golfclub Stippelberg
Golfclub Stippelberg in Bakel, North Brabant, plays on a 27-hole golf complex with an inland links character, designed by architect Michiel van der Vaart.
Golfbaan Stippelberg is made up of two courses: the 18-hole Championship Course and the Executive Course, a nine-hole layout of par 3s and par 4s. Stippelberg also has extensive practice facilities, including a driving range right on the water.
Michiel van der Vaart designed Stippelberg with input from Gerard Jol and Philip Spogard of Jol Golf Design. The Stippelberg layouts feature irregular, rugged bunkers and strong undulations, and the planting follows what originally grew here: broom, heather, birch, oak and juniper.
Stippelberg lies on the Hooizak in Bakel, in the municipality of Gemert-Bakel in the Peel region, just south of the De Stippelberg nature reserve. The Stippelberg complex covers about 90 hectares. The De Stippelberg nature reserve takes its name from old drift dunes that dot the landscape like 'stippels', or specks.
Golfclub Stippelberg was formally founded on 28 December 2006, at the request of the municipality of Gemert-Bakel. The operating company De Peelhorst bought the land and led the planning. Construction of Stippelberg began in spring 2009; the first nine holes opened in June 2010, 18 holes were in play by October 2010, and the full 27 were finished in March 2011.
Visitors are welcome at Golfbaan Stippelberg as green fee players. Book a tee time in advance; the club sets a maximum combined handicap of 108 per flight.
