Golfclub Ookmeer was founded on 23 April 1987 as Open Golfclub Amsterdam Noord (OGAN), playing on a nine-hole course at the De Weeren sports complex on the Volendammerweg in Amsterdam-Noord. That site had to make way for development around the North-South metro line, and in September 2001 the club moved to Sportpark Ookmeer in Osdorp. It took the name Golfclub Ookmeer in the autumn of 2004.
Can visitors play Golfclub Ookmeer? Yes: green fee players are welcome on a day pass. The club advises checking the course status before you travel, as conditions can change from day to day.
