About Golfclub Midden-Brabant

Golfclub Midden-Brabant in Esbeek, North Brabant, is an 18-hole, par-72 golf course by Alan Rijks, set in the wooded farmland of the De Utrecht estate.

Golfclub Midden-Brabant was founded in 1995. Golf architect Alan Rijks designed its current course, which opened in 2001 together with a nine-hole par-3 course. The clubhouse at Midden-Brabant is De Ekster, a Brabant farmhouse from 1926 that has been converted for the club.

Golfclub Midden-Brabant is on the Dunsedijk in Esbeek, a village in the municipality of Hilvarenbeek south of Tilburg. The course occupies Landgoed De Utrecht, an estate more than a hundred years old, well away from busy roads and town traffic.

The championship course at Midden-Brabant has ten par 4s, four par 3s and four par 5s. It measures 5,875 metres from the white tees and 4,691 metres from the orange tees. Both nines are par 36: the front nine is 2,972 metres from the white tees, the back nine 2,903 metres. The 5th, a 383-metre par 4, is stroke index 1, and the 3rd is the longest par 5 at 481 metres.

How hard is Midden-Brabant? From the white tees the men's course rating is 72.0 with a slope of 141; from the yellow tees it is 70.4 and 130. For women, the course rating from the red tees is 72.8 with a slope of 132. The back nine is the tougher half: from the white tees its men's slope is 148, against 133 on the front nine.

Midden-Brabant keeps the solitary trees, copses and tree-lined avenues of the old estate, and many holes run alongside them. Water hazards and bunkers add to the challenge, and one of the par 3s at Midden-Brabant is played entirely over water.

Visitors are welcome at Golfclub Midden-Brabant. The 18-hole course requires the Dutch NGF course permit (baanpermissie), while the par-3 course needs no handicap or permit, which makes it a good start for beginners. Book your green fee with the club.
