Golfclub Kavel II Beemster

Golfclub Kavel II Beemster in Middenbeemster, North Holland, is a 9-hole, par-32 polder course with plenty of water, in the Beemster World Heritage Site.

Golfclub Kavel II Beemster sits on the Volgerweg in Middenbeemster, about 5 kilometres from Purmerend. The Beemster is a reclaimed lake on the UNESCO World Heritage List, and the course at Kavel II Beemster plays among the polder's historic water hazards.

The 7th stands out at Kavel II Beemster: a long par 4 of 306 metres from the yellow tees, finishing at an island green. Water runs down the left of the 2nd, a 302-metre par 4, and a ditch crosses the fairway of the 3rd, a 269-metre par 4. At 76 metres from the yellow tees, the 6th is the shortest hole on the course.

Played twice as an 18-hole round, the course is par 64 over 4,214 metres from the yellow tees. Over 18 holes the men's course rating from the yellow tees is 63.0 with a slope of 111; for women from the red tees it is 65.0 with a slope of 111.

Kavel II Beemster also offers a par-3 version from the orange tees: par 27 over 1,055 metres for nine holes, or par 54 over 2,110 metres for 18. Over 18 holes the men's course rating is 50.6 with a slope of 76, and the women's 52.9 with a slope of 81.

Kavel II Beemster is a family business. The great-grandfather of the current owners bought the land in the Beemster in 1926. What started as a farm grew into a place for sport, leisure and hospitality, and today the fourth generation runs Kavel II.

Can visitors play Kavel II Beemster? Yes, you don't need to be a member: green fee players are welcome. For nine holes you need at least the Dutch NGF course permit (NGF-golfbaanpermissie).
