About Golfclub Golf Residentie Dronten
Golfclub Golf Residentie Dronten in Dronten, Flevoland, is an 18-hole, par-72 golf course with plenty of water, laid out on the former Zuiderzee seabed.
Golf Residentie Dronten was built in the second half of the 1990s on about 80 hectares of reclaimed polder land. Its architect made deliberate use of that seabed past, which shows in the rolling holes and the large water features. The holes wind through the residential park on the Golfresidentie in Dronten.
What sets Golf Residentie Dronten apart is its mix of housing and golf, based on an American model. Residents of the golf park are co-owners of the course and each hold two playing rights. The club itself was founded at the kitchen table of one of the first residents. The layout was designed in advance but built in stages, so the first club championship was played over just eight holes.
The two nines at Golf Residentie Dronten are not evenly matched. The front nine is a par 35 of 2,747 metres from the white tees; the back nine is a par 37 of 3,384 metres with three par 5s. The hardest hole by stroke index is the 14th, a 523-metre par 5 from the white tees.
Golf Residentie Dronten has ten par 4s, four par 3s and four par 5s, and measures 6,131 metres from the white tees and 4,225 metres from the orange tees. From the white tees the men's course rating is 73.2 with a slope of 140; from the yellow tees it is 71.4 and 138. For women, the course rating from the red tees is 72.2 with a slope of 134.
