Golfclub Flevoland

Golfclub Flevoland in Lelystad, Flevoland, is an 18-hole, par-72 polder course, played as two rounds of the nine-hole Green loop.

Golfclub Flevoland was founded in March 1979 as the first golf club in Flevoland. Earlier plans fell through: an 18-hole design from 1973 was dropped because of a planned railway line, and six holes laid out in 1978 were ploughed under after the local authorities turned against the plan. A nine-hole course opened on the current site in May 1989, and with Unigolf as operator an 18-hole course followed in 1997. The course closed at the end of 2020, reopened with 9 holes on 1 January 2023 and has had 12 holes since January 2024.

Golfclub Flevoland lies on the Parlaan in Lelystad, between the dike of Eastern Flevoland and the Zuigerplasbos woodland, 3.5 metres below sea level.

How does an 18-hole round at Golfclub Flevoland work? You play the nine holes of the Green loop twice, each time at par 36. The club also has a separate 12-hole Blue loop, which counts as a qualifying round of its own.

Water comes into play on most holes at Golfclub Flevoland. Under the local rules, water runs alongside eight of the nine holes on the Green loop, and a ball that comes to rest in or beyond it is out of bounds. The longest hole is the 7th, a par 5 of 508 metres from the yellow tees, while the 8th, a 383-metre par 4, is stroke index 1.

Over 18 holes, Golfclub Flevoland has ten par 4s, four par 3s and four par 5s, and measures 5,956 metres from the yellow tees and 5,046 metres from the red tees. The men's course rating from yellow is 73.3 with a slope of 137; from red it is 69.0 and 116. For women, the course rating from the red tees is 73.9 with a slope of 131.

Visitors are welcome at Golfclub Flevoland: green fee players buy a day ticket that covers an unlimited number of holes, and tee times can be booked through Nexxchange or golf.nl.
