About Golfclub de Semslanden
Golfclub de Semslanden in Gasselternijveen, Drenthe, is an 18-hole, par-72 course in woodland and open country, by Eschauzier & Thate and Gerard Jol.
Golfclub de Semslanden is made up of two nine-hole loops, each a par 36. Hondsrug is laid out among woodland, while Boerveen has an open character. Both loops at the Semslanden can also be played on their own: from the white tees Boerveen measures 3,073 metres and Hondsrug 3,197 metres.
The Semslanden course lies on the Nieuwe Dijk in Gasselternijveen, in the Kostvlies area near the village of Gasselte. The club was founded on 26 November 1986, and its first nine holes, designed by Eschauzier & Thate, opened in 1989. Gerard Jol then expanded the course in stages, and since June 1999 the Semslanden has had a full 18-hole course with A-status.
The club itself calls the 1st on Boerveen the longest and most difficult par 4 at the Semslanden. It measures 416 metres from the white tees, water comes into play on the left from 120 metres, and the deep green has three levels.
With ten par 4s, four par 3s and four par 5s, the Semslanden measures 6,270 metres from the white tees and 4,438 metres from the orange tees. Men playing from the white tees face a course rating of 73.7 and a slope of 142; from the yellow tees the figures are 71.7 and 137. Women playing from the red tees have a course rating of 71.8 and a slope of 134.
Visitors with a WHS handicap of 54 or lower can pay a green fee and play the 18-hole course at Golfclub de Semslanden. Tee times are booked through the GOLF.NL app or the GOLF.NL website. Golfers without a handicap can play Drieveld, the Semslanden's nine-hole par-3 course for beginners.
