About Golfclub De Dorpswaard
Golfclub De Dorpswaard in Kerkdriel, Gelderland, is an 18-hole, par-73 course on the Maas floodplain, built as nine holes with double tees by Gerard Jol.
Each of the nine holes at Golfclub De Dorpswaard has two tee positions, so an 18-hole round plays as 18 different holes. The first nine are a par 36 of 2,912 metres from the yellow tees; the second nine are a par 37 of 3,014 metres. Each loop can also be played on its own.
Golfclub De Dorpswaard sits on the Piekenwaardweg in Kerkdriel, in the heart of the Bommelerwaard between 's-Hertogenbosch (Den Bosch) and Zaltbommel. The course lies outside the dyke, on the floodplain of a cut-off meander of the Maas, with water features, raised greens and views over the river landscape.
Gerard Jol designed De Dorpswaard, which opened as a nine-hole course in 1991. A short par-3/4 course has since been worked into the existing layout. Since 2015 the club has been part of the Golfalliantie, a group of Dutch clubs whose members can play at each other's courses.
Over 18 holes, De Dorpswaard has four par 3s, nine par 4s and five par 5s. It measures 5,926 metres from the yellow tees, 5,031 metres from the red tees and 4,189 metres from the orange tees. The hardest hole on the stroke index is the 6th, a 406-metre par 4; the longest is the 18th, a par 5 of 460 metres.
From the yellow tees, the men's course rating at De Dorpswaard is 72.7 with a slope of 134; from the red tees it is 67.6 and 121. For women, the course rating from the red tees is 73.1 with a slope of 134.
Visitors are welcome at Golfclub De Dorpswaard as green fee players and can book a tee time with the caddie master or online. According to golf.nl, both nine-hole loops require a minimum handicap of 54, while the par-3 course has no handicap requirement. On busy days the club may set extra conditions for non-members.
