About Golfclub Broekpolder

Golfclub Broekpolder in Vlaardingen, South Holland, is an 18-hole, par-72 polder course with reed-lined water, redesigned by Frank Pont in 2021-2022.

Golfclub Broekpolder sits on the Watersportweg, just north of Vlaardingen near Rotterdam, next to the Vlietlanden nature area. The polder was raised with harbour silt before Broekpolder was built, and around 75,000 trees, shrubs and plants went in during construction.

Golfclub Broekpolder carries on the Rotterdamsche Golfclub, founded on 15 December 1932 with a nine-hole course in Kralingen. Its members wanted 18 holes, and there was no room for them in Kralingen. English architect Frank Pennink designed the new course in the Broekpolder together with the provincial planning service. Gerard Jol later reworked several holes and added new water features.

A renovation in 2021-2022 to a design by Frank Pont gave Golfclub Broekpolder a new routing, 18 new greens with run-off areas and new tees. Broekpolder is a long parkland and polder course with open fairways, reed-fringed water and wide views over the low-lying land of Midden-Delfland.

Broekpolder's 18 holes break down into ten par 4s, four par 3s and four par 5s, measuring 6,320 metres from the white tees and 4,567 metres from the orange tees. The 12th, a 378-metre par 4 from the white tees, is stroke index 1. Men play the white tees at a course rating of 74.4 and a slope of 139, the yellow tees at 71.9 and 135. Women play the red tees at 73.3 and 133. Each nine can also be played on its own, both at par 36.

Visitors can play Golfclub Broekpolder as green fee players on showing proof of NGF membership. Broekpolder has no tee times, so call the caddiemaster beforehand to check whether there is room on the course.
