About Golfclub Bergvliet
Golfclub Bergvliet in Oosterhout, North Brabant, has an 18-hole, par-71 golf course along woodland edges, designed by Gerard Jol and Michiel van der Vaart.
Golfclub Bergvliet has its home on Landgoed Bergvliet, an estate on the Salesdreef in Oosterhout that dates back to the 13th century and lies between the Vrachelse Heide heath and the Oosterhout woods, a short drive from Breda. The golf course was built in 2007 on more than 60 hectares of former pasture where livestock once grazed.
How does Bergvliet play? The championship course at Golfclub Bergvliet rolls through the Brabant countryside, at times with a links-like feel. A woodland edge forms the backdrop on almost every hole, there are water features, and old sand drifts shape the ground. Some holes sit sheltered among tall trees, while on others the wind blows freely.
Bergvliet's 18 holes are made up of two nines whose first tees, at holes 1 and 10, lie close together. Loop A is a par 36 of 3,061 metres from the white tees, loop B a par 35 of 2,867 metres. Each loop can be played on its own or combined into a full round.
The Bergvliet championship course has six par 3s, seven par 4s and five par 5s, and measures 5,928 metres from the white tees, 5,553 from yellow and 4,694 from red. Its longest hole is the 14th, a 515-metre par 5 from the whites. Men play the white tees at a course rating of 71.4 and a slope of 137, and the yellow tees at 69.5 and 131. For women, the red tees carry a course rating of 70.3 and a slope of 128.
Landgoed Bergvliet also has a nine-hole par-3 course: par 27 over 934 metres, with holes from 63 to 129 metres. Played twice, it makes an 18-hole round of par 54.
