About Golfclub Almeerderhout

Golfclub Almeerderhout in Almere, Flevoland, is a 27-hole golf course with three par-36 loops in rolling, wooded terrain, plus a nine-hole par-3 course.

Golfclub Almeerderhout lies on the Watersnipweg in Almere, in a wooded area of about 120 hectares. The club itself calls the course challenging, citing its doglegs, water hazards, 113 bunkers and unpredictable wind.

Golf architect Joan Dudok van Heel designed the original 18 holes and the par-3 course at Almeerderhout, laid out on 65 hectares of leased land. The par-3 course opened in 1987 and the 18 holes followed on 1 April 1988. Prince Claus officially opened Golfclub Almeerderhout on 10 September 1988. A third loop was added in 1993, bringing the total to 27 holes, and the land was bought in 1997.

The 27 holes at Almeerderhout form three nine-hole loops: IJmeer, Gooimeer and Markermeer. Each loop is a par 36, so any two of them combine into an 18-hole round of par 72. The longest hole at Almeerderhout is the 2nd on the Markermeer loop, at 522 metres from the men's back tee.

Can visitors play Golfclub Almeerderhout? Yes. Green fee players are welcome with a valid WHS handicap certificate or a club handicap of 54. On the par-3 course at Almeerderhout no maximum playing handicap applies.

Golfclub Almeerderhout holds A-status. For practice, the Almere club has a driving range with a largely covered hitting area, three practice bunkers, two chipping greens and a putting green.
