About Golfbaan De Vlietlanden

Golfbaan De Vlietlanden in Wervershoof, North Holland, is a public parkland golf course in the West Frisian polders, with elevation changes and water.

Can you play Golfbaan De Vlietlanden without being a member? Yes. De Vlietlanden is a public course, so you need neither a club membership nor an introduction. According to the club, you also don't need course permission (baanpermissie) or a Handicap 54 certificate to pay a green fee and play.

Golfbaan De Vlietlanden sits on the Grutteweide in Wervershoof, close to Medemblik and about 1.4 kilometres from the IJsselmeer. The club says the course is less than 15 minutes' drive from the A7 motorway.

De Vlietlanden started towards the end of the last century as a nine-hole par-3 course and was later expanded in two phases. The holes at Golfbaan De Vlietlanden were laid out by golf course consultant Lambert Veenstra together with landscape architect Aart Bergsma.

Despite its polder setting, De Vlietlanden is far from flat. Several tees and greens at the Wervershoof course sit on raised ground, and water features come into play across the layout.

Golfbaan De Vlietlanden also offers free practice facilities: a driving range, a putting and chipping green, practice bunkers and a separate practice hole.
