Golf Almelo

Golfclub Almelo in Almelo, Overijssel, is a 9-hole parkland golf course with loops of par 30 and par 28, renovated with architect Jurrian van der Vaart.

Golfclub Almelo began in 2002 as a volunteer initiative and still runs almost entirely on volunteers. The recent renovation was designed together with golf course architect Jurrian van der Vaart. By 2025 the club had grown into a full golf facility with a driving range, practice greens, a practice bunker and a clubhouse.

Golfclub Almelo lies on the Veenelandenweg on the edge of Almelo, in the green Schelfhorst district. According to the club, its park-like course contributes to the green lung of Almelo. Water features and bunkers are spread across the course.

Golfclub Almelo offers two loops: the Landlus from the yellow tees and the shorter Veenlus from the red tees. They share seven holes; only the 7th and 8th differ. On the Landlus these are par 4s of 232 and 220 metres, on the Veenlus par 3s of 160 and 74 metres. Every tee shot on both loops is played from a mat.

The Landlus at Golfclub Almelo has six par 3s and three par 4s: par 30 over 1,377 metres. The Veenlus has eight par 3s and one par 4: par 28 over 1,159 metres. The 6th, a 200-metre par 4, is stroke index 1 on both loops. An 18-hole round plays a loop twice: par 60 and 2,754 metres on the Landlus, par 56 and 2,318 metres on the Veenlus.

Over 18 holes, the men's course rating at Golfclub Almelo is 54.9 with a slope of 80 from the yellow tees of the Landlus, and 51.7 with a slope of 76 from the red tees of the Veenlus. For women on the Veenlus, the red-tee course rating is 54.2 with a slope of 83.

Can visitors play Golfclub Almelo? Yes: any golfer with an NGF golf course permit (golfbaanpermissie) is welcome on both loops. Buy the green fee at the clubhouse or, outside opening hours, by email with your NGF registration number.
