About De Zeeuwsche
Golfbaan De Zeeuwsche in Middelburg, Zeeland, is a nine-hole, par-35 golf course with plenty of water, designed by golf architect Bruno Steensels.
Since 2008, Golfbaan De Zeeuwsche has offered two courses on the Paukenweg, on the edge of Middelburg, both laid out by Bruno Steensels: a nine-hole course and a par-3 course. The main course has many water features and a varied set of holes. The club itself points to the design and the frequent wind as what makes the course a challenge.
Can visitors play De Zeeuwsche? Yes. Green fee players need a handicap of 54 or lower for the main course, or course permission issued by De Zeeuwsche. The par-3 course has no minimum playing requirement, so it is open to everyone, including beginners without a handicap. Both courses can be played over 9 or 18 holes. Book a tee time online or by phone; the club does not take bookings by email.
The nine holes at De Zeeuwsche consist of two par 3s, six par 4s and one par 5, measuring 2,674 metres from the yellow tees. An 18-hole round means playing the loop twice, for a par of 70 over 5,348 metres from the yellow tees, 4,552 metres from the red tees and 3,618 metres from the orange tees. Over 18 holes, men playing from the yellow tees face a course rating of 69.7 and a slope of 136. Women playing from the red tees have a course rating of 71.1 and a slope of 130.
De Zeeuwsche starts with its only par 5, 437 metres from the yellow tees. The 2nd is a short par 4 of 279 metres, while the 9th, at 400 metres, is the longest par 4 and carries stroke index 1. The two par 3s, the 3rd and the 6th, measure 118 and 109 metres.
The par-3 course at Golfbaan De Zeeuwsche has nine holes and a par of 27, with holes from 72 to 147 metres and a total of 921 metres. Over two rounds it plays as an 18-hole par 54 of 1,842 metres, with a men's course rating of 49.9 and a slope of 69, and 51.8 and 75 for women.
