About Berendonck
Golfpark De Berendonck in Wijchen, Gelderland, is an 18-hole, par-71 golf course with water features, woodland edges and natural changes in elevation.
The 18 holes at Golfpark De Berendonck are made up of a red and a yellow loop, played in either order or as separate nines. The red loop, holes 1 to 9, is a par 36 of 3,115 metres from the white tees, set among water features and woodland edges. It includes the longest hole, the 545-metre par-5 5th. The yellow loop, holes 10 to 18, is shorter at par 35 and 2,764 metres and has three par 3s. It also runs past water, over gentle slopes.
Golfpark De Berendonck lies on the Weg door de Berendonck in Wijchen, in the De Berendonck recreation park close to Nijmegen. Its first nine holes, designed by Joan Dudok van Heel, opened in 1986. The course grew to 18 holes in 1991, and a nine-hole par-3 course followed in 2000. Between 2002 and 2015 the club was called Golf Club BurgGolf Wijchen. In 2024 the Hollandsche Golfbaan Exploitatie Maatschappij took over the course, and Golfpark De Berendonck is now part of the Hollandsche Golfclub.
Golfpark De Berendonck has nine par 4s, five par 3s and four par 5s. The course measures 5,879 metres from the white tees, 5,594 metres from the yellow tees and 4,401 metres from the orange tees. From the white tees the men's course rating is 72.0 with a slope of 132; from the yellow tees it is 70.5 and 131. For women, the course rating from the red tees is 72.0 with a slope of 131.
Visitors can play Golfpark De Berendonck. The 18-hole course and both loops require at least a baanpermissie, a course permit issued by the Hollandsche Golfclub. The nine-hole par-3 course, par 27, needs no permit or handicap, so beginners can start there. Green fee players book tee times online. The driving range, putting green and chipping area at Golfpark De Berendonck are open to everyone.
