About Albatross Golf Club

Albatrossen at Albatross Golfklubb in Gothenburg, Sweden, is an 18-hole parkland and woodland golf course designed by Lars Andréasson.

Albatross Golfklubb is on Lerbäcksvägen in Hisings Backa, a district of Gothenburg on the island of Hisingen, north of the city centre. Albatrossen is the club's 18-hole course. Together with the nine-hole Birdiebanan and Eaglekorten, a nine-hole par-3 course, it gives Albatross Golfklubb 36 holes.

Albatrossen measures 5,755 metres from the white tees, 5,435 metres from the yellow tees and 4,575 metres from the red tees. By stroke index, the hardest hole on Albatrossen is the 15th, a par 4 of 390 metres from the whites. The 17th is a 490-metre par 5. The four par 3s include the 5th and 10th, both 125 metres from the white tees and the shortest holes on the course.

Albatross Golfklubb was founded in 1973 on the initiative of Jan-Ove Johansson, assisted by Lars Andréasson, who also designed the course. The first seven holes of Albatrossen opened in the summer of 1974, the same year the club joined the Swedish Golf Federation, and the full 18 holes were finished in 1975. Eaglekorten followed in 1999, built to offer quality golf to people who did not yet play. Nine more full-length holes were added in 2006.

Visitors can play Albatrossen on a green fee, and tee times can be booked online through the Albatross Golfklubb website. Eaglekorten, the short course, is pay and play every day of the week.
